(AP) -- Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg says Jeff Rutter
will stay on as the Cyclones' director of basketball operations.

 Rutter spent the past four years as an assistant coach under
Greg McDermott. He became the team's director of basketball
operations last month and will serve in that capacity under
Hoiberg.

 Hoiberg says Rutter has an outstanding working knowledge of the
program and the state as a whole.

 Hoiberg was hired in late April to replace McDermott, who left
to become head coach at Creighton.

 Rutter joins associate head coach T.J. Otzelberger and assistant
Jeff Grayer on Hoiberg's first staff.
