(AP) -- St. Louis is among five finalists to host the
NCAA Division I wrestling championships in 2013 or 2014.
The St. Louis Sports Commission said Thursday a decision on
future sites will be made in the next two weeks. St. Louis already
has been awarded the 2012 event.
The city hosted the wrestling championships five times in the
last decade, with the Sports Commission and University of Missouri
serving as partners. The 2009 event set an attendance record of
97,336 for the three days.
St. Louis also has bid on the 2013 and 2014 NCAA Frozen Four
men's ice hockey tournament and the 2012 U.S. gymnastics
championships. Decisions on those events are expected by June.
