IOWA CITY, IOWA (AP) -- Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn is expected to plead guilty in an alleged assault case involving a taxi driver.

The 21-year-old from St. Louis was charged with assault causing bodily injury after he allegedly punched the driver on Jan. 19, 2009, when the cabbie honked at him. Police say Clayborn got out of his car, walked back to the taxi and hit the man.

Online court records filed Wednesday show Clayborn plans to enter a guilty plea on March 19. The records don't indicate if he'll plead guilty to a lesser charge.

A telephone call Thursday to Clayborn's attorney, Matthew Petrzelka, wasn't immediately returned. Iowa spokesman Phil Haddy says coach Kirk Ferentz isn't planning to comment on Clayborn's situation.
