Byron Embry, a former Indian Hills Community College baseball player, will return to Indian Hills as the guest speaker for the annual IHCC Baseball Banquet on Thursday, February 4.  The banquet will be held at the Manhattan Restaurant in Centerville.
Embry was a pitcher on the IHCC Falcons’ 1997 JUCO World Series team and signed a pro contract with the Atlanta Braves at the end of that ’97 season.  He also played in the Kansas City Royals’ and Seattle Mariners’ organizations in a professional career that lasted 12 years.
Following his retirement, Embry launched a career as a motivational speaker and is the founder and owner of Closing Remarks.
The IHCC banquet will include dinner, an auction, a chance to meet the members of the 2010 Indian Hills’ baseball squad and remarks by Embry.  Dinner will be at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $15 each and can be purchased in advance from the Indian Hills baseball coaches, at the IHCC Administration Building on the Centerville campus or the Athletic Office on the Indian Hills Ottumwa campus.  Tickets will also be available at the door.
