Braidlow posts four wins at Knox Duals

The Truman Wrestling team returned to the mats on Saturday as they competed in four dual matches as part of the Chuck Porter Duals at Knox College (Ill.).  Loyde Braidlow was a perfect 4-0 on the day in the 285-pound weight class.

Braidlow won 2-0 but the ‘Dogs fell 37-9 in the first round to Trine (Ind.) University.  Roland Wimberly and Ryan Banning each picked up wins in the dual.

Braidlow shutout his opponent from Augustana (Ill.) in round two by a score of 9-0 but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings defeated the Bulldogs 31-18.

Against University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Braidlow picked up a pinfall victory while Alex Maus also earned a fall win but UW-Platteville took round three by a 33-21 margin.

In the finale, Wimberly, Maus and Zach Hayes recorded wins and Braidlow capped off a strong day with a 15-10 win but against it was the host school Knox College coming away with the 29-18 victory.

Truman left three weight classes open in each dual.

Banning and Maus went 3-for-4 in their respective matches on the day.

The Bulldogs will compete next at the Central College Open in Pella, Iowa next Saturday.
