Pioneer Invitational Results      5/02/09

(FAIRFIELD, Iowa) - Host Maharishi School won the Pioneer Invitational Saturday, winning three of four round-robin singles and doubles flights and finishing second in the other.

The Pioneers tallied 164 points (one point for each game won), while Davis County, with second place finishes in both #1 and #2 doubles and third place finishes in both singles round-robins, finished second with 108 points. 

West Burlington/Notre Dame finished third with 94 points, while Fairfield, led by #1 singles division champion Justin Bradfield, took fourth with 84 points. Albia finished fifth with 49 points.

Individual event champions and runners-up:

#1 Singles Champion: Justin Bradfield, Fairfield (42 points)

Runner-up: Thomas Weiss, Maharishi (36 points)

#2 Singles Champion: Sam Arsanjani, Maharishi (43 points)

Runner-up: Matsuhiro Nagamatsu: West Burlington-Notre Dame (39 points)

#1 Doubles Champions: Joseph Gelfand/Derek Thatcher Maharishi (44 points) Runners-up: tie between Albia’s Clint Aumspach/Kenny Williams and Davis County’s Chase Piper/Bradley Bish

#2 Doubles Champions: Jay Stewart/Brenton Schwartz, Maharishi (41 points)

Runners-up: Kyle Graves/Trevor Walker, Davis County (31 points)
