SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Former Sully Buttes High School basketball standout Alexis Yackley has decided to transfer from Iowa State University.

Yackley says she would like to return to South Dakota but that she hasn't picked a new college yet. She says the University of South Dakota is high on her list and that Augustana College is a possibility.

The 5-foot-7 freshman guard played in 25 games for the Cyclones this past season, averaging two points per outing. She played seven minutes in two of Iowa State's four NCAA national tournament games.

Yackley says her decision has nothing to do with playing time but that she felt Iowa State just wasn't the right fit for her.

Athletes must sit out a year if they transfer from one Division I college to another. The rule doesn't apply to transfers to another NCAA division or a separate league.
