(AP) -- Coach Todd Lickliter says Iowa's 63-59 loss at Penn State on Saturday was more painful than frustrating, given how close the Hawkeyes were to winning.
Iowa led by 13 points with 8:05 left before allowing the Nittany Lions to close the game on a 22-5 run. The loss dropped the Hawkeyes to 12-8 overall and 2-5 in the Big Ten.
Lickliter says the problem was late-game execution, adding that the Hawkeyes had a couple of late shots that just didn't go in. That wasn't an issue when Iowa beat Wisconsin 73-69 in overtime on Jan. 21.
Lickliter also says forward Cyrus Tate, who is recovering from a sprained ankle, could play as early as Thursday against Michigan State.
