MONTREAL (AP) -- The 57th NHL All-Star game is Sunday night in Montreal, but many of the game's top players are missing.
Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby will sit out the game with a knee injury while Nicklas Lidstrom and Pavel Datsyuk of the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings turned down their All-Star invitations, citing injuries.
The Western conference starters are forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews of Chicago and Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf. The Blackhawks' Brian Campbell and Scott Niedermayer of the Ducks are the starting defensemen with Anaheim's J.S. Giguere starting in goal.
Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin and Montreal's Alexei Kovalev are in the Eastern conference starting lineup along with Canadiens Andrei Markov, Mike Komisarek and goalie Carey Price.
