Sash wins Big Ten defensive player of week

(AP) -- Iowa defensive back Tyler Sash is the Big Ten's defensive player of the week because of his play in the Hawkeyes' upset win over third-ranked Penn State.

Sash played a key role in Iowa's 24-23 win, the Nittany Lions first of the year.

He had eight tackles and a crucial interception that set up Iowa's drive for a winning field goal.

Sash is a 6-foot-1 inch, 200 pound redshirt freshman from Oskaloosa.
