(AP) -- The jurors in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial are expected to deliberate into the evening.

The seven women and five men began discussing the case Thursday afternoon after lawyers delivered lengthy closing arguments.

They are still talking.

The jury is weighing 48 counts against Sandusky, covering 10 boys over a 15-year period. They are being sequestered during deliberations.

Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach, has maintained his innocence.

Prosecutors contend the retired Penn State assistant football coach is a serial, predatory pedophile who showered them with gifts including football tickets. .
