The #19 Truman women had their four game winning streak snapped as Pittsburg State defended their home court with a 63-48 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday night. Truman will continue the road swing on Saturday at Northeastern (Okla.) State University.

After the Bulldogs (16-4, 9-3 MIAA) took their first lead at 12-10, the Gorillas (13-7; 7-5 MIAA) used their strong inside game to go on a 17-3 run and took control.

The Bulldogs trailed by 14 points at the half, their largest deficit of the season. The first half for the Bulldogs was plagued by a 1-of-11 performance from beyond the arc, a 16.1% overall shooting percentage and six Pittsburg State blocks.

In the second, Truman cut the margin to 10 on a Amy Briggs'  three-pointer but had two straight possessions with turnovers. Lizzy Jeronimus, tagged with three, first half fouls, scored the next three and 13 in the second half to seal the victory for the Gorillas.

Lauren Brown was the difference maker inside for Pitt as the 6-6 senior scored 19 points and added six of the Gorillas eight blocks.

Briggs finished with 11 for Truman while Becka McHenry notched her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The 11 boards set a new single-game career high for the Truman senior.

The Bulldogs finished the contest shooting a season-low 23.7% from the field while the Gorillas shot 57.4%.
