Truman State women's basketball bounces Lincoln 71 to 53

 For the second straight game the Truman Women’s Basketball team used a second half three-point shooting barrage to bust a game wide open as the turned a four-point deficit into a 71-53 victory over the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Thursday night in conference action.
 
The Bulldogs (9-2; 2-1 MIAA) trailed 39-35 five minutes into the second half as both teams suffered through a scoring drought.

It was Truman’s Amy Briggs that ended the Bulldogs dry spell three minutes later she went coast-to-coast for a lay-up and followed that make up with a three-pointer near the end of the shot clock to put Truman ahead for good.
 
That trey led to four consecutive long range bombs and the Bulldogs would go on a 24-0 run to lead 59-39 with six and half minutes left to play.

Truman finished the game making their final seven three-point attempts after making 13 straight in a non-conference game on Monday afternoon.

The Bulldogs were nine-of-16 from outside to raise their season three-point shooting percentage to 46.6 percent.
 
The two teams exchanged the lead seven times prior to the 24-0 run.
 
Briggs and Becka McHenry led Truman with 15 points apiece while Jennifer Conway (13), Jessica Redd (13) and Courtney Strait (10) all finished in double-figures. 

 Megan Sharpe and Bianca Szfarowicz each finished with eight rebounds and four steals.
 
Lincoln (6-5; 1-2 MIAA) was led by Freddie Sims’ 10 points and shot 29% in the second half and 36% for the game.
 
It was the 23rd straight win by Truman over Lincoln dating back to 1998.
 
The Bulldogs will return to the floor on Saturday afternoon on the road at Lindenwood (Mo.) University.

The Lions are one of four new members of the MIAA. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from St. Charles, Mo.
