The Truman men's basketball team hits the floor following finals week and a 10-day layoff on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 pm when the 'Dogs visit Quincy (Ill.) for the second time this season.

The Bulldogs and Hawks comprise one half of a four-team bracket as part of the QU Holiday Tournament.

Truman (3-4, 1-1 MIAA) will take on the Hawks (4-2) in the second of two semifinals on Tuesday night, following Northeastern (Okla.) State  (7-1, 2-0 MIAA) against Ohio Valley (W. Va.) (2-6) at 5:15 pm.

The two winners will square off in the championship at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 19, while the two losers will battle for third place at 5:15 on Wednesday.

Series Notes vs. Quincy:

Last Meeting: QU 62, Truman 60 (Nov. 20, 2012 || Quincy, Ill.)
Series Streak: Quincy W-6
Record in Quincy: Quincy leads 36-15 (QU W-6)
Last TSU win in Quincy: Dec. 17, 2005 (W 81-77 ot)
Woodley vs. Quincy: 0-2

Coaches' Clipboard:

1) Maintain for 40: Truman used a pair of quick bursts to jump out to an early 18-point lead the first time against QU this season, but scored just seven points in the final 10 minutes of the first half to allow the Hawks to crawl within three at the break.

The Bulldogs have been better in the first half all season, shooting 48% overall and 41% from three, while out-rebounding the opposition as well.

2) Keep the Hawks off the Line: Quincy is one of the top free throw shooting teams in the country, connecting at a 75.6% clip from the charity stripe this season.

3) Battle on the Glass: The Bulldogs are the top MIAA team in defensive rebounding percentage (limiting teams to just one shot on a possession), while Quincy ranks 13th in the GLVC in total offensive boards.

 Maintaining those numbers should help the 'Dogs against a QU squad that shoots just 42% from the floor.
