Defendant requests new judge in sex case

UNIONVILLE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri man facing  20 sex-related felony charges has a new judge assigned to the case.

   
Kenneth Shumate, 32, of Unionville, Mo. is facing several sex related charges, including several counts of statutory sodomy, sexual exploitation of a child and more.

Nodoway County Circuit Judge Roger Prokes has been assigned to the case after the defense asked for the change.

    
Shumate is scheduled to be arraigned on March 26th.
There is also a change of venue filed by the defense pending in the case.

Shumate remains behind bars on a $1 million dollar cash only bond.
