ADAIR COUNTY, MO. -- Five people are in custody, following a pursuit in Adair County Thursday evening.

Charged are Christena Morgan, 41, of Kirksville. She's facing felony charges of attempt to manufacture meth, possession of meth precursors and resisting arrest. She was also charged with DWI drug intoxication. She's being held in the Adair County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.

Also charged are Robert Youngblood, 22, and Christopher Brogan, 21, both of Kirksville. They’re charged with felony counts of attempt to manufacture meth and possession of meth precursors. They’re being held at the Adair County Jail on $75,000 cash only bond.

The other two arrested are James Hatfield, 38, and his wife Janet Hatfield, 22, both of Kirksville. They're each charged with attempt to manufacture meth and possession of meth precursors. They’re also being held in the Adair County Jail on $75,000 cash only bond each.

According to court papers, the vehicle the five were in was wanted for suspicion of a theft in Kirksville. The car was spotted by an Adair County deputy who pursued the vehicle on several roads in the county. The car reached speeds of 65 miles per hour on some of the gravel roads.

A Missouri state trooper who was in the process of setting out stop sticks, narrowly missed being struck by the vehicle. During the pursuit, the deputy noticed several items being thrown out of one of the car's windows. The pursuit ended when the vehicle pulled into a private drive, where all five suspects were taken into custody.

The incident, which began a little before 6 p.m. Thursday, finally ended a little over a half-hour later.
