(AP) --  A couple of big-play wide receivers are changing teams, while the New York Giants take a chance on one of their top wideouts.

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a deal that will send wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for a package of draft picks that includes Seattle's first-round selection next month, No. 25 overall.

A person with knowledge of the deal has confirmed the details to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade won't be official until the league's new year begins tomorrow and Harvin passes a physical.

The four-year veteran caught 62 passes for 677 yards and three touchdowns last season before missing the final seven games with a severely sprained left ankle.

The Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens are shipping wide receiver Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers for a sixth-round pick in this year's draft, pending a physical.

Boldin had six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 34-31 Super Bowl victory over the 49ers.

The 10-year veteran grabbed four touchdown passes for the Ravens last season while leading the team with 65 catches for 921 receiving yards.

The Giants are allowing Victor Cruz to enter restricted free agency by placing a first-round tender on the wide receiver.

Team owner John Mara says the Giants will risk having Cruz agree to a contract with another club. New York can match any offer or receive a first-round draft choice as compensation.

Also in the NFL, cornerback DeAngelo Hall has been released by the Washington Redskins, the result of the team's NFL-imposed salary cap penalty on the eve of the start of free agency.

Hall had two years remaining on the six-year, $54 million deal he signed at the end of the 2008 season.

He was due to make $7.5 million in salary in 2013, but the team is over the cap because of an $18 million sanction for the way they structured contracts during the 2010 uncapped season.

The New York Jets have signed quarterback David Garrard to back up and possibly challenge Mark Sanchez for the starting job.

Garrard was selected to the 2009 Pro Bowl but hasn't has not played in the NFL since 2010.

Garrard started 76 games in nine seasons with Jacksonville, completing 62 percent of his passes for 16,000 yards, 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions.

The Denver Broncos have released talented but troubled linebacker D.J. Williams, who was suspended for nine games last season and lost his starting job to Wesley Woodyard.

The Broncos also released third quarterback Caleb Hanie.

Running back Beanie Wells has been cut by the Arizona Cardinals after four injury-plagued seasons.

A first-round pick in 2009, Wells showed flashes of the brilliance he had at Ohio State, but has only played one full season - his rookie year.

The Tennessee Titans have placed a second-round tender on center Fernando Velasco before the start of free agency.

If another team offers Velasco a contract, the tender allows the Titans to match the offer or receive a second-round selection in April's draft from the team signing the lineman.
