Do Heartland schools plan for snow days ahead of time?

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The snow storms the Heartland has gotten in the past week alone has allowed kids to get time off from school and play with the snow.

But does snow days put the school year back further?

In the Kirksville R-III School District, they have had already four snow days this year. School officials already had six built in make-up days in the school year calendar, and they will be used.

In southeast Iowa, the Fairfield Community School District has had five snow days so far this year and they are making up the days by adding them at the end of the school year.

The Van Buren Community School District has had five snow days this year as well. They already have already made up for two days and are planning to make up the other three days further in the year.

The Davis County Community School District has had four snow days this year. They had a couple of built in make up days already in their calendar.

The Albia Community School District has used five snow days so far, and they have already seven built in make up days in their calendar.

The Moravia Community School District has had four snow days this year. They already have already made up for two days and are planning to make up the other two days further in the year.

In northeast Missouri, the Putnam County R-I School District has had six snow days so far this year. They already have already made up for two days and are planning to make up the other four days further in the year.

The Macon County R-I School District has had four snow days this school year. They are planning to make up for the days.

The Adair County R-I School District has had four snow days this year as well.
