The Truman swimming teams will close out the 2012-13 regular season this Thursday through Sunday by competing in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship/Invitational, held at the Rochester Recreation Center in Rochester, Minnesota.

This year marked the first – and only – season that the Bulldog programs will compete under the NSIC banner, as Truman shifted from the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference prior to this season and will become full-fledged members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2013-14.

The Truman women will square off against seven other programs – Lindenwood (Mo.), Minnesota State-Mankato, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Nebraska-Kearney, Northern (S.D.) State, St. Cloud (Minn.) State and William Jewell (Mo.) – for the NSIC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship, while the Bulldog men will battle Lindenwood, St. Cloud State and William Jewell in the NSIC Invitational.

A handful of nationally-ranked programs will take to the RRC pool for the events, as St. Cloud State boasts the No. 15 women’s team and the No. 19 men’s team in the most recent (Jan. 31) CollegeSwimming.com/CSCAA Coaches’ top-25 national poll.

The Bulldog women and the Mankato women both received votes in the last poll.

Truman will carry 14 combined individual B-cut and three women’s relay B-cut times into the weekend, looking to increase opportunities for selections in the 2013 NCAA Div. II Swimming & Diving Championship, to be held March 6-9 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Top times from Bulldogs currently amongst the NSIC’s top-15 are listed below entering this weekend’s action.

The NSIC Championship/Invitational events get underway on Thursday (Feb. 7) night at 6:30 pm with the 1000 Free finals and the 800 Free Relay competitions for both the women and men.
