Heartland teen arrested for having explosive material

LEWIS COUNTY, MO. -- A Lewis County man has been arrested and charged with possession of an explosive or incendiary material.

Gregory G. Garner, 17, of Ewing, Missouri, was arrested Monday and charged with the Class C Felony.

During an investigation late last week, Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies learned that Garner had in his possession chemicals to manufacture gun powder.  During the course of the investigation, they discovered that the chemicals had been stolen from a Highland High School science room.

There is no indication at this time that Garner intended on harming anyone or anything.

Garner appeared before the associate court and was released after posting a $10,000 cash bond.
