IOWA-MISSOURI -- If you're looking for some relief from the sudden rise in gas prices, you may have to wait a little longer.

Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.com, tells KTVO that retail gas prices continue to rise in all areas of the country.

Currently, if you get gas in Kirksville, you'll pay $3.35 per gallon. That is a 28 cent jump from one week ago.

Statewide, the average in Missouri has gone up just under 20 cents per gallon.

In Iowa, the price has risen just under 17 cents per gallon. Currently in Ottumwa, the price is $3.39 per gallon.

"The national average has ticked higher in the last week, as rising oil prices have put upward pressure on gasoline prices," DeHaan. "Unfortunately for angry motorists, there doesn't seem to be much relief in sight, at least for the time being, as retail prices continue to climb in virtually all areas of the country."
