For the first time in over 13 years, the Truman Women’s Basketball team has climbed into the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association/USA Today Sports Division II Top 25 Poll.

The Bulldogs debut this week at 22 and will take their 15-3 overall record and 8-2 conference mark to Southwest Baptist (Mo.) University on Saturday afternoon for their next game.

Truman is one of three MIAA schools in the top 25 with Washburn (Kan.) in a tie for ninth and the University of Central Missouri at 11. Pittsburg (Kan.) State and Fort Hays (Kan.) State are also receiving mentions in this week’s survey.

This is the sixth poll this season that Truman received votes but first time cracking the elusive top 25 since January 26, 2000.

They were 24th in that survey and dropped out the following week. The highest ranking for the Bulldogs was 14th on January 25, 1999.

Complete notes for Saturday’s conference game at Southwest Baptist will be posted on Friday morning.
