Truman State wrestling falls to Central Missouri 24 to 9

The Truman Wrestling team lost their second MIAA Dual of the season by a 24-9 tally to the University of Central Missouri on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs will return to Pershing Arena on Thursday night when they host Central Baptist (Ark.) College at 7:30 p.m.
 
The Mules opened the meet with Mitchell Bradley winning by decision 9-4 over JJ Dorrell to take a 3-0 lead.
 
Tyler Stanley, making his Truman debut, lost a hard fought overtime match to Luke McClure 7-6 in the next match and then Eric Mateo registered a major victory over Nick Shea to push the lead to 10-0.
 
Ryan Maus got the Bulldogs on the board with a 6-3 win at 149 and Colton Schmitz followed with a 2-0 victory at 157.
 
Ty Loethen added insurance with a 6-3 decision at 165 while Dustin McClintlock got the three points back for the Bulldogs with a 10-6 win at 174.
 
Clarence Neely was the difference for the Mules as he won by tech fall over Nate Seiler at 184 and Todd Brier and Tim Tuaquoi closed the meet out with 9-6, 5-1 decisions respectively.
