Sean Pinkerton, 25, entered a guilty plea to one count of second degree assault
KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Kirksville man was sentenced Thursday afternoon after pleading guilty to an assault charge.
Sean Pinkerton, 25, entered a guilty plea to one count of second degree assault following an altercation in which he struck the victim in the face with a hammer.
Pinkerton was sentenced to five years in prison, with the sentence to be revisited in 120 days.
The victim told police that Pinkerton had hit him in the jaw with the hammer. The victim also stated that Pinkerton had threatened to shoot him. A search of Pinkerton's vehicle revealed a revolver in the front seat.
The case was moved to Sullivan County on a change of venue from Adair County.
