(AP) -- For the first time in 80 years, baseball's St. Louis Cardinals will feature the name of the city on a home jersey.

The Cardinals are adding a new retro jersey to wear next season at Saturday home games.

For eight decades, all home jerseys have had the name Cardinals on the front along with the birds on the bat.

The new Saturday-only jersey will read "St. Louis," will be an off-white color and will feature piping along the collar and down the front, a similar to that used in Stan Musial's heyday in the 1940s and 1950s.

The birds on the bat remain, though with enhanced stitching.

The Cardinals are expected to announce other uniform changes during a news conference Friday at Busch Stadium.
