Truman senior Alex Maus earned the first MIAA Wrestler of the Week award as he was one of four Bulldogs to bring home individual titles at last week’s Knox (Ill.) College Open.

Maus  won two matches via pinfall in less than a minute of action, another match by a 3-1 decision before winning the title of the 141-pound bracket with a pin at the 4:40 mark over Mason Bohm of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Maus was joined on the podium by brother Ryan Maus at 149, Colton Schmitz at 165 and Helmut Rentschler at 197.

This is the first year since 1986 that the MIAA sponsors wrestling as a conference sport and first MIAA Wrestler of the Week award of the season.
