KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- If you do business with the Kirksville Social Security Office, you will soon have less time to do it.
Beginning November 19, the office will be open to the public 30 minutes less each day.
The hours will now be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In addition, beginning January 2, the office will close at noon on Wednesdays.
Social Security officials say this will allow employees to process claims without the need for overtime. With reduced funding by congress, the Social Security Administration will no longer have the money needed to provide the overtime to keep the present hours.
The Kirksville Social Security Office is located at 1305 Crown Drive.
