Investigation continuing into suspicious fire

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The investigation is continuing into an election night fire in Kirksville.
    
The fire, which broke out just after 7 Tuesday night, caused damage to a residence in the 600 block of West Normal.
    
When fire crews arrived on the scene, heavy smoke was coming from the building.

Kirksville Police Detective Justin Jones tells KTVO the fire was suspicious in nature, following an investigation at the scene by the Missouri State Fire Marshall's Office.

No one was home at the time of the fire.
