Last year’s Indian Hills Community College softball team was named an All-Academic Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The 2012 IHCC squad had the third-best team grade point average, 3.44, among all NFCA member two-year schools in the country.

The Warrior softball team had earlier been named an All-Academic Team by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Indian Hills coach Jim Overturf said, “I am really proud of how the team finished last year, not only on the field where we were 34-28 and just missed winning the regional title, but especially in the classroom.

It shows what you can achieve with hard work and determination.

This is what we ask of our players every year.

It was a great job by each individual on that 2012 team.”

The IHCC softball program is working on a streak of 13 straight years in which the Warriors have been named an All-Academic team by the NJCAA.
