(AP) -- Iowa State's running game is scuffling, and the Cyclones have to try to fix it with their leading rusher on the sideline.

The Cyclones are last in the Big 12 in rushing after managing only 65 yards on the ground in last Saturday's 27-21 loss to Kansas State. James White, who leads the team with 264 yards rushing, missed that game and won't play in next Saturday's game at Oklahoma State.

Coach Paul Rhoads pounded the table twice during his weekly press conference to emphasize his point that the Cyclones have to run the ball to be successful.

Iowa State (4-2, 1-2 Big 12) is 14-4 under Rhoads when rushing for at least 190 yards in a game and 8-18 when it falls below that figure.
