The Truman women’s soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to a season-best seven matches, earning a 1-0 road win at Emporia State on Sunday afternoon. Kelsey Twellman’s 65th-minute breakaway goal proved to be the game-winner.
Twellman scored her fifth goal of the season with 25:51 remaining on the clock, giving Truman (11-2-1, 7-1 MIAA) the goal it needed to win its third one-goal match of the season.
The Bulldogs outshot Emporia (3-9-1, 0-7-1 MIAA) by a 14-7 count on a breezy day.
Junior keeper Emily Bozdeck earned her 10th shutout of the season – and fifth in the last six games – by making three saves.
The Bulldogs return to Kirksville for Homecoming next weekend for a pair of league matches, beginning on Friday (Oct. 19) against Fort Hays State at noon.
