KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Many Kirksville residents started their morning off with a little prayer.

The Kirksville Interchurch Ministries held their annual Community Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning. Thursdays event is the 25th year for the breakfast and over the years they have had many great speakers including John Ashcroft the very first year.

Over the past several years the breakfast has drifted away from prayer, but a revamped event this year brought it all back.

“This year we have changed the program up a little it to make it more focused on prayer. We invited the community to come together and start their day focusing on our great god and savior. Our special speaker this year is Chaplain Chad Earhart from Northeast Regional Medical Center,” President of Kirksville Inter-Church Ministries Sherie Eklof said.

The breakfast also included special music by soloist Lisa Archer along with other guest speakers. The topic of discussion this year was understanding, trusting and respecting each other regardless of religious or social background.
