A nationally known professional tennis referee charged with the coffee-cup killing of her husband has given police a DNA sample after dropping her opposition to the procedure.
(AP) --
Lois Ann Goodman, who is charged with beating her husband to death with a coffee cup last April, provided the sample Wednesday.

The 70-year-old Goodman also appeared briefly in court for a pre-trial hearing. She was accompanied by about 25 supporters, including friends and neighbors.

A judge set her next hearing for Nov. 8.

In the meantime, defense attorneys say they have a huge amount of evidence and court documents provided by prosecutors to review before trial.
