The Missouri Tigers (2-1 overall, 0-1 in SEC play), hit the road for the first time in 2012, as they head to Columbia, S.C., where they'll take on the No. 7/8 South Carolina Gamecocks (3-0, 1-0), at Williams-Brice Stadium. Kickoff for the nationally-televised CBS broadcast will be at 2:30 p.m. central time.
The Tigers are coming off a three-game homestand, which saw them blow out FCS foe Southeastern Louisiana in the 2012 opener (W, 62-10), before splitting against Georgia (L, 41-20) and Arizona State (W, 24-20) in a pair of games which weren't decided until the 4th quarter.
South Carolina is coming off a convincing 49-6 home win over UAB last Saturday.
The game stood at 14-6 after a UAB field goal late in the second quarter, but Carolina put up 35 unanswered points the rest of the way to blow it open.
The Gamecocks opened their 2012 season on Aug. 30th by posting a hard-fought 17-13 win at Vanderbilt, before blasting East Carolina on Sept. 8th by a 48-10 count.
South Carolina is led by a stingy defense which ranks 6th in the NCAA against the run coming into Saturday, with an average of just 53.0 yards allowed per game.
This past Saturday, UAB gained only 27 net yards rushing on 42 attempts – a mere 0.6 yards per attempt.
The last time Mizzou played a road game at a ranked opponent, the Tigers came away with a 38-31 overtime win at #16 Texas A&M in 2011.
