Hitting the road for its second match in less than 24 hours, the Truman volleyball team clawed out a 3-0 (-23, -23, -21) sweep at Southwest Baptist on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs (8-3, 2-1 MIAA) used late runs in all three sets to overwhelm the Bearcats (4-6, 0-2 MIAA) in the sweep. Truman trailed 20-18 in the first set and 22-18 in the second, while also being tied 19-19 in the third, before hitting the accelerator and reaching the 25-point mark first all three times.

It wasn’t the strongest hitting night for the ’Dogs, who posted just a .180 hitting percentage to SBU’s .200.

However, Truman spread the wealth on the attack, as nine different players recorded at least three kills, led by Allie Brak's nine and Kassi Schroeder's eight.

Meghan Zimmerman  recorded a double-double at the setter position with 30 assists and a team-high 13 digs, while Brak (13) and Abby Moser (11) also finished with double-figure digs.

Mackynzi Gibson had nine kills and 10 digs to lead the Bearcats.

Truman is off until a two-match road trip next weekend, traveling to Missouri Southern on Friday night and No. 8 Central Missouri on Saturday. First serve both nights is set for 7:00 pm.
