Iowa State's secondary is quickly easing any concerns that came from having two new starters.
(AP) --
First-year starters Jansen Watson and Durrell Givens have combined with returning regulars Jeremy Reeves and Jacques Washington to form an aggressive unit that's been a strength for the Cyclones (2-0).

Iowa State has four interceptions in the first two games, and neither Tulsa nor Iowa completed 50 percent of its passes. Iowa State came up with late interceptions to secure both victories.

The play of the secondary has been critical in a defense that's giving up just 15 points a game and held Iowa without a touchdown in a 9-6 victory last Saturday.

Iowa State hosts Western Illinois on Saturday.
