The Truman women’s golf team held on for a one-shot team victory at the Mount Mercy (Iowa) Fall Invitational on Saturday at Hunters Ridge Golf Course.
The Bulldogs edged out William Penn (Iowa) 674 to 675 while Jessica Tomash tied for fifth with rounds of 80 and 86.
The Bulldogs held a nine-shot lead after round one.
They fired a 322, which was the low round either day for any team but battled the wind and elements on Saturday to shoot 352 in round two.
Truman had consistent scoring in round one with Tomash, Lynn Dreisilker each shooting 80 and Kim Barmettler and Riley Keltner carding 81s.
Barmettler and Dreisilker tied for 12 with two-day totals of 170 while Keltner tied for 16th.
Courtney Gisler and Mackenzie McDermott shot 178 and 190 respectively.
The team will next compete at the Drury Invitational on September 10-11 at the Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar, Mo.
