Four Truman women’s golfers – Liz Lestmann, Jessica Schepker, Lynn Dreisilker and Riley Keltner – received recognition on the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American scholar team on Friday.
Lestermann capped her Bulldog career with a third straight selection to the NGCA team after competing in 20 of the squad’s 22 rounds as a senior.
She posted five top-20 finishes with a low round of 75 at the Washington (Mo.) University Invitational on April 1.
Both Schepker (Columbia, Mo., Helias) and Dreisikler (Wheaton, Ill., St. Francis) landed on the squad for the second time in as many seasons, as the duo ranked third and fourth on the squad in stroke average during the 2011-12 campaign.
Schepker put up top-20 finishes in four of her eight events, while Dreisilker had a low round of 78 at the Millikin (Ill.) Fall Classic on Sept. 25, 2011.
Capping off the selections was Keltner Keltner (Belleville, Ill., Althoff Catholic), who was just one of two players to play in all 22 rounds.
The freshman recorded one top-20 finish and put up five rounds of 85 or better.
Truman was responsible for half of the MIAA’s total selections on the team, as the league had eight total receive recognition.
A total of 585 women’s golfers encompassing NCAA Divisions I, II and III were bestowed with the prestigious honor. With a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 as a base requirement, the criteria for selection to the NGCA All-American scholar team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics.
