(AP) -- Dontari Poe walked into the Kansas City Chiefs' locker room on Friday and saw the shiny red helmets hanging from hooks.
It was then that he realized he was playing in the NFL.
The No. 11 pick in the draft headlined a group of roughly three dozen first-year players who reported for the Chiefs' three-day rookie minicamp this weekend.
None of them carry the same expectations as Poe.
The 350-pound defensive tackle put up staggering numbers at the NFL scouting combine, running a sub-5 second 40-yard dash and bench pressing 225 pounds 44 times.
But he only made a modest impact on the field for Memphis, leaving him as something of an unknown.
