Ottumwa point guard Ashley Salgado committed today to play basketball at Marshalltown Community College.

The senior led all of Iowa last year in assists recording nearly seven a game.

Salgado was honored this year as a unanimous second team all conference pick.

Her decision to go play for the Tigers hinged on one factor-the coach.

Marshalltown is led by Alison Lacey, the former Iowa State Cyclone where she became the only player in Iowa State history to score 1500 points, grab 500 rebounds, and hand out 500 assists.

She was also a member of the 2010 WNBA Champion Seattle Storm.
