BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- The Davis County High School football team threw on their uniforms Saturday to go through some pre-game rituals.

This was the first chance for the freshman players to wear the Mustang’s uniform.

Coach David Lukens says he hopes Saturday’s practice will help the team feel more comfortable come Friday.

With less than a week before their first game, we asked coach if his team is ready.

“I don't know that you're ever totally satisfied with where you're at.  You're always wishin you had one more practice or a little bit better, a little farther along, kids have been working really really hard I'm, very pleased with that,” said Lukens.

Davis County opens their season at Centerville on Friday.  You can catch those highlights on Gridiron Lights Friday following KTVO News at Ten.
