Woman facing sex charge denied bond reduction

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Kelly Ames, 21, of Kirksville, charged with two sex-related felonies is denied a bond reduction.

Ames is charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation in connection with incidents involving the four-year-old victim. Ames is being held in the Adair County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Ames is accused of inappropriately touching the victim on two separate occasions while she was babysitting the victim in a trailer she shared with her boyfriend.

Ames allegedly told Kirksville police she quote, "had a problem".

Meanwhile, Ames' boyfriend, 19-year-old Christopher Hunter, 19, is charged with two counts of statutory sodomy, one count each of first-degree child molestation and using a child in a sexual performance.

Hunter is scheduled to have his trial date set on March 19, while Ames is scheduled to have her trial date set on April 2.
