OTTUMWA, IOWA -- With the big game just days away, TV's are in high demand.
In fact, over the next couple of days, you may have a hard time finding one to purchase, no matter where you shop, and especially if you're looking for a big or flat screen.
At Bridge City TV and Appliance in Ottumwa, this rush happens every year around Super Bowl Sunday.
"Well, the last couple of weeks, it's been really busy," said Chris McKeag, owner of Bridge City Appliance and TV. "I don't know why everyone waits until the last minute, then everybody wants them to be hung on the walls, so we're running behind times - we have been running behind - but we're trying to accomplish as best as we can for people."
McKeag said most customers are looking for a TV as big as they can possibly get in time for the game, with 55, 60, 70 and even 80-inch screens the most popular items.
If you're looking to avoid the rush next year and get your hands on a TV before they start selling out, McKeag said the best time to shop is at the very beginning of January -- after Christmas, but before the Super Bowl -- especially if you want it hung and installed in time for game time.
