OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Thursday was the annual Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Drive at the Bridge View Center and according to officials, the turnout was great.

The final results came in Friday and 92 pints of whole blood were collected which will in turn help around 300 people.

The blood center said your business or organization can help save lives too.

“The Community Blood Program depends on support from our communities and that means that businesses and churches and schools -- we need their help sponsoring blood drives because people don't donate blood unless you're asking them to.  So if your business or church organization or school is interested in sponsoring a blood drive in 2013, give the blood center a call,” said Ashleigh Richmond, Donor Relations Consultant.
