NOVINGER, MO. -- A traffic crash back in July that injured two people has now resulted in the arrest of a northeast Missouri man.

Jason Brandenburg, 35, of Novinger is charged with three counts of second-degree assault for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and causing a crash that resulted in injury.

He also faces a charge of driving while revoked/suspended (2nd or subsequent offense) and operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner – involving an accident, both  misdemeanors.

According to troopers, the crash happened in mid-July when Brandenburg attempted to turn from Highway 149 onto Highway 6 in Novinger.

Brandenburg allegedly pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by Cody Ford, 17, of Milan.

Brandenburg, along with a passenger in Ford’s vehicle were injured in the crash.

According to court papers, at the time of the crash, Brandenburg's eyes appeared to be bloodshot and glassy, and his speech was slurred.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab reported Brandenburg's blood alcohol level was .225, nearly three times the legal limit.

Brandenburg turned himself in at the Adair County Jail Tuesday afternoon where he is being held on $25,000 cash-only bond.
