KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The Knights of Columbus Council 3375 is having its annual Drive for Persons with Developmental Disabilities.

100 percent of the proceeds will go to people who have disabilities.

50 percent goes to the Knights of Columbus Developmental Center at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis.

The other 50 percent is used for local programs.

“It helps with senate bill 40, Chariton Valley and it also helps with the Special Olympics,” Chairman Ken Ziegler said.

The drive will be October 19 through October 21 at Wal-Mart and Hy-Vee.

On Friday and Saturday the hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On Sunday the hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

No administration fees are taken from the money that's donated.

And, when you donate you will receive a free Tootsie Roll.

Ziegler said last year was the best raising $6,000.
