LA PLATA, MO -- For a second week in a row, an outdoor Heartland Sunday service was brought indoors due to the rain.

The annual Church In The Park event in La Plata was held in the Christian Church Sunday morning instead of the outdoor La Plata City Park.

Organizers say it was yesterday's heavy rains and the soggy grass that lead to the decision.

Despite the change, it didn't stop church goers from the various churches in the community to unite and worship.

"We all believe that Christ is the head of our church. Doesn't matter if you are from a Christian church, a Baptist church, a Presbyterian church, a Methodist church, or whichever church. We are all under Christ, and he is the head of our church. So when we come together, it is just one body of Christ coming together to worship," said Rev. John Becker of the La Plata Community Presbyterian Church.

The event was all part of the 60th Annual La Plata Soybean Festival.

The festival continues through Monday with events such as the parade and a BBQ chicken lunch.
