RANDOLPH COUNTY, MO. -- The name of the crop duster pilot killed in a Randolph County crash on July 13, 2012 is now known.
According to an obituary from Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton, the pilot was Brad Hammond, 36, of Trenton.
The small plane Hammond was flying crashed in a cornfield outside of Huntsville.
Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols told KTVO on the day of the crash that it appears Hammond's plane clipped some trees as he as spraying the field, causing the fiery crash.
Federal investigators are still looking into the cause.
Randolph County Coroner Gerald Luntsford told KTVO on July 20 that he is still waiting on the State Medical Examiner's Office to officially confirm Hammond's identity using dental records.
He said he is not sure what the holdup is because it usually doesn't take this long.
Hammond's funeral was held July 19 in Trenton.
The company he worked for is based in Chariton County.
