OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Just a friendly reminder that Tuesday is Election Day!
For those of you who want to vote before work, polls open at 7 a.m. and stay open until 9 p.m.
And if you haven’t registered to vote yet, you can still do so at your polling site the day of the election.
“You need to take two forms of ID. If your driver's license doesn't have your current address on it, then you need to take a utility bill or bank statement -- something showing proof of residency. Otherwise, if your driver’s license has your current address on it, and it's not expired, then you can use that for both pieces of identification,” said Kelly Spurgeon, Wapello County Auditor.
For those voting at Precincts 2, 3, 9, and 10 in Ottumwa, the new scanners will be available as an option for checking in. You can either use your driver’s license or voter registration card.
This will speed up the voting process and hopefully alleviate some of those long lines at the polls.
