OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Saturday afternoon, Republican candidates running for Iowa's 2nd Congressional District, Dan Dolan and John Archer, both participated at a Tea Party forum in Ottumwa.
KTVO spoke to them on how they plan on bringing more jobs to southeast Iowa.
“We have ever-increasing fees, fines, mandates, taxes, protocols, regulations. Everyone agrees that it’s small businesses that are the engines of job creations in this country and we got to get government out of the way. Let those businesses thrive, put people back to work and move the whole economic malaise behind us,” said Dolan.
“And I as a U.S. Representative will not be able individually to create jobs but to create the environment and that's through lower regulations and lower taxes and Independent Energy Policy. That's how we create the environment for entrepreneurs to create desperately needed jobs in southeast, Iowa and in America,” said Archer.
Whomever wins the primary will go on to face Congressman Dave Loebsack in November.
